Getting to Know Danielle Lee
I: Hi Danielle, let’s jump right into it. Tell us a little about yourself and who you are as an artist.
D: I want to first say thank you so much for having me, I’m so excited to be a part of your Music Spotlight! It was such a pleasure working with you two for my “Our Indiana Home” music video! I’m a homegrown kind of girl from Indiana pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter in Nashville, TN.
I: And it was an honor to work with you Danielle! We definitely have to do that again. So, how long have you been singing and playing the guitar?
D: I have been singing since I was three years old and playing guitar for over 13 years. Wow! Has it really been that long already? I, also, now play banjo, ukulele, and mandolin!
I: Woah! You may have to teach us a thing or two. What or who inspires your music?
D: My family comes from a long line of musicians. My mother sang to me while I was growing up along with my grandfather (her father) teaching me how to play guitar. My family has been there for me ever since day one.
I: So we have to ask, who’s your favorite artist and why?
D: The first song my grandfather taught me on guitar was Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash. Ever since, Johnny Cash has been my favorite artist to sing his songs. I love the Classic Country genre and always will.
I: What’s next for Danielle Lee?
D: Since I am now in Nashville, I’ve been playing every chance I get in front as many people as I can. I recently moved closer to Downtown and it will now be easier to attend songwriter nights and co-write with other artists. I’m about to purchase a new mandolin to add to my shows and I am currently saving up money for my next CD.
I: How can people contact you and find your music?
D: I have my musician’s website at www.DanielleLeeMusic.com where everyone can check out my music, tour dates, blog, contact for booking and more! I’m also active on Facebook (www.facebook.com/danielleleemusic) and Twitter @danleemusic.
I: Well that’s all. Danielle, thank you for your time.
D: Thank you so much for having me! You two are wonderful to work with and I hope to do it again soon for my next music video!
